21st Anniversary

The Group’s 21st Anniversary Dinner was held in The Great Hall, Galgorm Manor on Wednesday, 13th November 1996 when a special anniversary cake was cut by Mrs Sandra Carson (President) and Mrs Margaret Barr (Chairperson). The following extract, giving an account of the evening, was published in the local press:-

FLORAL ART GROUP CELEBRATES COMING OF AGE IN FINE STYLE : 21ST ANNIVERSARY

Ballymena Floral Art Group’s 21st Anniversary Dinner was held in The Great Hall, Galgorm Manor last Wednesday – and what a scrumptious meal it was!

Sandra Carson, Founder President, gave a brief account of the origins of the Club.

Mrs Doreen Adams, Founder President of NIGFAS, brought her good wishes to the club and Mrs Sheelagh Moag, NIGFAS Chairwoman, proposed a toast and said how well the Ballymena Club was known in the floral art world.

Mrs May Matthews related her story about the 21 years of friendship and harmony that flowers have brought her. Rev. Macmillan, or ‘Mac’ as he is known to the group, was the guest speaker and told of his floral art demonstrations in every part of the world and how he carried greetings from Northern Ireland. He said he hoped to be an ambassador through the love of flowers.

Ballymena Floral Art Group hope all their guests had a truly wonderful evening and look forward to another 21 years.
